My name is Jabarri Banks. I am a photographer working and living in Atlanta, GA.

My work explores the relationship between the exceptional common individual and moments in time. My subjects can be found eating at the dinner table or standing under the tunnels at Krog Street. With influences as diverse as Walter Martin and Creative Soul Photography, new collaborations are established from both traditional and modern contexts.

Ever since I was a young adult, I have been captivated by grasping valuable moments and making them stand still. What started out as means of income, soon became a passion when my uncle placed the camera in my hand, leaving only a sense of confusion, not knowing where to start, yet embarking on a new experience. I shadowed after him on countless events, events that were all milestones… first prom dates, first generation graduations, or a first-time bride at her wedding. In all of these moments, I was able to witness how he captured treasured moments through a mere lens. It was during the editing phase that I knew this is what I wanted to do- create memories.

As I develop my works and create new opportunities, with the start of my own business, the viewer is left with a new alternative of freezing moments in time.
